Dr. Greg Rife is a concert saxophonist and educator with a broad and accomplished career in both performance and education. He currently serves as Assistant Professor of Music at Southwestern Oklahoma State University, where he instructs students in saxophone and music theory. Greg is highly sought after as a performer, clinician, and adjudicator, maintaining a busy schedule of performances and educational engagements across the United States.
As the tenor saxophonist of the award winning Colere Quartet, Greg has received awards including the prestigious gold medal at the 2020 Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition, has performed live on Chicago’s 98.7 WFMT, and appeared in music education programming on Northwest Indiana’s WNIT Public Television.
Greg holds a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in saxophone performance from the University of Iowa and degrees in music education and saxophone performance from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
Greg is a Conn-Selmer Artist and Vandoren Artist-Clinican and performs exclusively on Selmer Paris saxophones and Vandoren woodwind products.
